30 youngsters, from 8th grade through high school, conducted by Adrian Mackiewicz, rehearse weekly Monday evenings from September through May at Leonard J. Tyl Middle School, Oakdale, CT. The group presents a winter concert in January and a spring concert in May. Two concerts-in-the-round are given in area elementary schools. Coaches work with ensemble groups that give performances such as pre-concert appearances in the Garde Arts Center lobby on ECSO concert nights. Youth Orchestra membership is by audition only. Auditions for new members are in September and May. Young talented area musicians are extended a warm invitation to audition.
AUDITIONS WILL BE HELD Monday, September 15, 2008, at 6:00 PM - 6:30 PM at the Tyl Middle School in Montville, CT.
Audition repertoire:
1. Scale of your choice
2. Piece of your choice
3. Sight reading or play from memory a simple tune.
***Special arrangements can be made for additional auditions.
