The Eastern Connecticut Symphony Chorus joined by guest soloists will appear in a performance with the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra on April 5th in a concert presentation of Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 9”at the Garde Arts Center conducted by ECSO Music Director, Xiao-Lu Li.
Seventy-five auditioned volunteer singers, conducted by a professional choral director, rehearse weekly on Wednesday evenings, from September through April, in New London. The Chorus performs a minimum of two concerts annually. Planned for the 2007-2008 season are a concert on Saturday, December 22, 2007, at 7:30 PM, at Harkness Chapel on the Connecticut College campus, and a concert with the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra at the Garde Arts Center on Saturday, April 5, 2008, featuring Beethoven's "Symphony No. 9."
Annual auditions for the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Chorus will be held on Wednesday September 12 & Wednesday, September 19th at 6 PM in the meeting hall attached to the rear of the First Congregational Church at 66 Union Street in New London . (Near the post office.)You may sing a song of your own choice such as a hymn.No show tunes are acceptable.
